Came across this poem and wanted to share

Found this poem by accident, but I thought it would be worth sharing. I was searching around for some resources online, and I came across this blog post by Philip Carr-Gomm: http://www.philipcarr-gomm.com/japanese-maple/ in which he highlighted the poem “Japanese Maple” by Clive James, an Australian poet.

I’d never heard of Clive James before, but after reading this poem I think I’ll be reading more of his work in the future. Just a wonderful piece of poetry, filled with some amazing imagery and a reminder of the transience of our lives. Check out the link and read the poem if you’re interested, but be warned: this is heavy stuff, very emotional and powerful.
